abstract = "Among irrigation systems, the central pivot was the one that grew
the most in the country in recent years, particularly in the State
of Goi{\'a}s, the area irrigated by central pivots increased from
1180 million in 2000 to 2120 million mē in 2010 and the number of
equipment, went from 1,532 to 2,895. The objective of this work
was to update the irrigated area by central pivot, as well as the
number of equipment installed in the municipalities of
Para{\'u}na and Palmeiras de Goi{\'a}s - GO, using remote
sensing techniques. The quantification of the central pivots in
the municipalities of Para{\'u}na and Palmeiras de Goi{\'a}s
were carried out based on satellite images Resource 2, selected
from May to August 2016. The areas with a pivot irrigation system
were identified considering circular features and In the scene and
the presence of vegetation with energy reflectance in the range
corresponding to green. It was observed that in the municipality
of Palmeiras de Goi{\'a}s it registered 74 pivots and
Para{\'u}na 132 pivots, occurring in both municipalities an
increase of 32 and 31%, respectively, in relation to 2010.
Regarding the irrigated area, Palmeiras de Goi{\'a}s showed an
increase Of 547.2 ha and Para{\'u}na of 1251.6 ha between 2010
and 2016. It is concluded with this work that in the
municipalities of Palmeiras de Goi{\'a}s and Para{\'u}na there
was a significant increase in the area irrigated by central pivot
between the years of 2010 and 2016, confirming the region as
another Brazilian irrigated agricultural pole.",
